Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they just symbolize the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of seven as well as 5 results in a value of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be played depending on the foll. codes:

- If the player or banker has a total of eight or nine, both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores will be the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds less a five % commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have money left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie normally pay out eight to one and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a crazy bet as ties will happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. be wary of placing bets on a tie. However odds are appreciably better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)

When played correctly, baccarat provides generally good odds, aside from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is not a predictor of future results. Staying abreast of old results on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and probably most successful tactic is the 1-3-2-6 technique. This tactic is used to increase payouts and reducing risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
