Punto Banco Regulations and Strategy
Punto Banco Principles
Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are counted at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is one. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dumped. For instance, a hand of five and six has a score of one (5 plus 6 = eleven; ignore the initial ‘one’).
A third card might be given using the rules below:
- If the gambler or bank has a total of eight or nine, both players stand.
- If the gambler has less than five, she takes a card. Players holds otherwise.
- If the gambler stands, the bank takes a card on a value less than five. If the player hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the bank pay out 19 to 20 (equal cash less a five percent rake. The Rake is recorded and cleared out once you depart the table so make sure you have money left over just before you leave). Winning bets on the gambler pays 1 to 1. Winning bets for a tie normally pays out at 8:1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a awful bet as a tie occurs lower than one in every ten hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for nine to one versus 8:1)
Bet on properly baccarat provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Method
As with all games Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is similar to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past is not an indicator of future events. Keeping track of previous results on a sheet of paper is a bad use of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.
The most familiar and possibly the most acknowledged strategy is the 1-3-2-6 method. This plan is deployed to pump up winnings and limit losses.
Start by betting one unit. If you win, add another to the two on the table for a sum total of three dollars on the second bet. Should you succeed you will now have six on the game table, pull off 4 so you are left with 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the third wager, deposit two to the 4 on the game table for a total of six on the fourth round.
If you don’t win on the 1st round, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the initial bet followed by a hit on the 2nd causes a hit of two. Wins on the first two with a defeat on the third gives you with a take of 2. And wins on the initial three with a hit on the fourth means you break even. Succeeding at all 4 rounds leaves you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you can give up the second wager 5 times for every successful run of 4 bets and in the end, are even.
