Baccarat Chemin de Fer Standards

Baccarat chemin de fer is wagered on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below ten are worth their printed number and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘bank’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand is the total of the cards, but the 1st number is discarded. For instance, a hand of 5 and six has a score of one (5 plus six = 11; ignore the initial ‘one’).

A additional card may be given out depending on the following rules:

- If the gambler or banker achieves a value of 8 or nine, the two players stay.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, she takes a card. Players otherwise stay.

- If the player stays, the house takes a card on five or lower. If the gambler takes a card, a table is employed to see if the house holds or hits.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The better of the two scores wins. Winning wagers on the house payout 19 to 20 (equal cash minus a five percent commission. The Rake is kept track of and paid off once you leave the game so be sure to have money left before you quit). Winning wagers on the gambler pays 1 to 1. Winning wagers for a tie normally pay 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor wager as ties happen less than one in every 10 hands. Avoid gambling on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for 9 to 1 vs. 8:1)

Played properly punto banco offers relatively decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games Baccarat has a few established misconceptions. One of which is the same as a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn’t a fore-teller of events about to happen. Keeping score of previous results on a page of paper is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our stationary desires.

The most common and possibly the most accomplished course of action is the 1-3-2-6 method. This technique is deployed to maximize profits and limit losses.

Start by wagering 1 unit. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the table for a grand total of three dollars on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, pull off four so you keep 2 on the third round. If you win the third wager, add two to the 4 on the game table for a sum total of six on the fourth wager.

If you do not win on the first bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the initial round followed by a hit on the second brings about a hit of 2. Success on the initial 2 with a defeat on the third provides you with a take of two. And wins on the first three with a hit on the fourth means you break even. Winning all four rounds gives you with 12, a take of 10. This means you are able to give up the second round 5 times for each favorable streak of four rounds and still balance the books.
